Current Obsession.

Peaches.

All day, every day.

This is why I love August.  It's my favorite month of summer (the perfect time to go to the beach!), and full of expectation for the school year and also, it's almost my birthday, so that makes it exciting.  But one of my favorite things about the end of summer are peaches.  My parents frequent a few farm stands in our area, and came home with a ton of these beauties on Saturday.  My mom and I spent probably an hour peeling and cutting them to freeze them for fall and winter smoothies.  Then, she bought another bag this week (read:  more peeling, cutting, and freezing).  You could say the woman's on a freezing frenzy.  I'm not complaining, cause it'll mean those wonderful August peaches all fall & winter!

While I'm a huge fan of just a plain ol' peach all on it's own (or peaches in oatmeal, or peaches and ice cream, or a peach smoothie, or peaches in fruit salad...), one thing I've always wanted to do is grill them...anyone have a good recipe or tips?

{a happy list}

I know I just posted a list about spring things that I'm looking forward to, but if you haven't figured it out yet, I like writing lists.
And happy lists are just the best kind.
So here goes!
things that are currently making me oh-so-happy:
warm weather
late-night walks
bicycles
new opportunities
sunglasses
having lunch in the sun
open windows
frozen yogurt on the way to class
finding little notes on my desk
taking photos
this song
running outside
bonfires
visits with friends

not enough talking lately

Lately, I've been blogging through pictures, mostly because its faster and easier, and definitely NOT for lack of things to say.  In fact, I haven't been talking a lot on here lately because there's just too much going on in my head and I'm having a hard enough time sorting it out up there, let along posting it here for all the world to read.  But I think its time for a little outward processing.

The biggest realization that's begun to hit me lately is that I'll be a college graduate in just seven weeks.  I'm leaving this place that has given me so much, and I'm both heartbroken and so excited for it.  I'll miss these people that I've grown to know, that I'm in love with, that have played a big role in making me who I am; I'll miss being a student at a Christian liberal arts school; I'll miss my church and the community it offers; I'll miss Boston and the North Shore and living three minutes from the ocean.  But I can't wait to see what God has next.  There are a ton of options on the table, and I just can't wait to see which one its going to be!

In other news, my brother is having a great time with the team in Namibia.  Their times of ministry have been fruitful and God is using them to touch the people that they are encountering.  My heart is definitely with them, and I'm feeling called back to Africa more than ever!  I can't wait to hear more about their adventures.

And this is what's been going on lately:
I presented a poster at NEPA in Burlington, VT.
Went to the fair, saw New England's largest pumpkin (1,600 lbs!) and pretended we were 6.
At home in PA for quad break, we went to a nursery where they had a mound of mums, that you could walk around, over, and under!
Pumpkin picking for Jen's 23rd birthday!
 Sarah came to visit!

6.  Pictures of flowers:

Camera life

Here's the thing about life lately, for one, its incredibly busy.  For another thing, most of the pictures taken of me recently feature me holding a camera.  For example:

And can I be quite honest?
I like it.
